Yes. Keys are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM using a per-installation secret. Plaintext never persists. Encryption keys can be rotated without losing access; full audit log on every BYOK action.

Every plan. BYOK requests are billed directly to your own provider account and bypass the Alma monthly allowance.

What happens if my BYOK key fails?

Alma falls back to its own provider pool and bills the call to your monthly allowance — never silent failures. Health monitoring shows latency, success rate and last error per key.

BYOK (Bring Your Own Keys)

BYOK lets you plug in your own provider API keys (Anthropic, Replicate, Leonardo, ElevenLabs, OpenAI, Google AI, Azure OpenAI). When a key is set, requests bill that provider directly and bypass the Alma monthly allowance — useful if you have provider credits or volume contracts. Keys are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM and have full health monitoring.

Use your own LLM provider API keys to bypass Alma's monthly allowance. Available on every plan. Supports Anthropic (chat), Replicate (Flux Pro images) and Leonardo AI (image generation). When using BYOK, queries are billed directly to your provider accounts and do not consume the Alma monthly pool.
